Summary: Information about how to join the @FOXPOP collective.
Join @FOXPOP
Want to join the @FOXPOP collective?
In order to join the @FOXPOP collective you will need to be able to maintain your own website or Blog. We do have some web space available, using Dreamweaver MX - but you need to be able to assemble and administer your own site/material.
As group endeavour we would ask all participants to help defray the costs of running and maintaining the two sites we use.
- A standard annual subscription of UKP 20.
- If you would like web space too - then an additional UKP 10 - making UKP 30.
- As we are starting in June, to run from June 2004 to June 2005 initially.
How it works
We envisage the arrangement working like this.
- All member websites and Blogs will have their names/logos on the @FOXPOP Home Page, with links.
- As a member you will have website access in order to post news of your latest reviews and articles on the @FOXPOP website, where it will be advertised and included in XML feeds etc. Links will go straight from @FOXPOP through to the article on your website. We ask for a return link at the end of the article, so readers can return to the main articles page http://www.foxpop.co.uk/articles/default.htm or your article's page where they can then post comments.
- You can post whenever you want (there is no deadline for a monthly publication as before).
- You will be responsible for the editing and assembling of your own content - and the online copyright will remain with you solely.
- We ask that you display the @FOXPOP logo on your site, and if possible to use the style sheets, navigation system, logos etc. which are distinctively @FOXPOP.
- Each member will have an @FOXPOP email address (we can provide the javascripting so that placing it on your site in an active form will not attract automated spidering).
- If you need web space, we can arrange it (as mentioned above) on the FoxPop.com web servers. If enough of us use the facility it will make it easier to add a search engine to that space for readers. The FoxPop.com web space can be accessed by FTP, for easy uploading, and each user can have their own folder/directory there. It has been administered using Dreamweaver MX and MX 2004, but I don't know if we need to standardise on one program - we will have to discover that one!

- There will be style sheets (CSS), logos, navigation buttons etc. available for all members.
- If there are problems with the main website, then David Lenton (email:
) is the webmaster for the new system, and he is the man you need to contact!

We do hope that you like the whole concept, and find it useful, and that it proves to be a viable and enjoyable way of keeping the FoxPop idea moving forward!
